Thanks Mom for the good manners!

So I'm in Beverly Hills (among other places) doing drop-offs. This one in particular is to a casting director for an upcoming movie. The role is that of a police officer....not too big, but I know I'm right for the role. So I go into the building and take the elevator...I'm going to the 4th floor and have my headshot in hand. The elevator doors are closing and just out of the corner of my eye....I see a young lady rushing to try to catch the elelvator....she doesn't make it. The doors close but I press the 'open door' button and she smiles and thanks me. No problem. "What floor would you like?", "4 please", "Oh...that's where I'm going", She peeks down at my headshot and sees the casting directors name on the outside and says "Oh, that's going to me!"...I'm like...."Great we're getting work done in the elevator!" We both laughed, wished each other Happy Holidays and I'm off to my next drop-off.

Who knows if I get a call or not to audition....but I kept thinking to myself, how embarrased would I have been if she caught the next elevator up and saw me dropping off my headshot and I didn't try to hold the door. In this business you never know who you're going to run into and where. Just wanted to share.

Feature Film Audition: "Oranges” @ Morman/Boling Casting. I read for the role of Jarardo. The audition didn't last very long but I was put on tape and felt it went very well.

Audition: "Nextel” @ ASG Casting. This was a spot promoting the GPS service on Nextel phones. It was pretty funny.

Audition: "Diet Snapple” @ Joe Blake Casting. Most of the Snapple spots I've seen are pretty funny. This one is no exception.

This is my first commercial audition through Commercial Talent Agency...so needless to say, it was special. Some people are quick dismiss their accomplishments and move on to the next goal. Believe it or not….I’m usually one of those people. My reasoning is that while I’m standing there patting myself on the back….the next hungry person is going to pass me by. Complacency and self-appreciation are my enemies. I have to stay hungry working on my craft and career.

Still on this day….I have to take a moment to give thanks to God for what I’ve accomplished. I know, I know, I’m not new to the business or to auditions. I’ve had agents in NYC and booked TV shows, films and commercials before (modest aren't I?)..I just feel a certain sense of accomplishment and it’s important to me. Just wanted to share that with you all. Next, my goal is to book some of these spots and also to book some of these TV shows. I continue working on obtaining theatrical representation but that will come when it comes. I can’t loose sleep over it. I’ll even be more marketable once I’m booking shows without representation.

But back to the point of this post. I'm very happy, thankful and looking forward to the future!
