Overnight celebrity.......well, sort of!

It’s Oscar night and my plans are to watch the show and day dream about when my time will come. Yeah, one day I’ll be invited to the Oscars and I’ll have a chance to acknowledge all the people who have been supporting and rooting for me. Not only do I put pressure upon myself to accomplish my goals. But sometimes I feel like I’m also doing this for all of my family and friends that are out there supporting, praying and rooting for
me. It’s as if it were a testament to the fact that with God you can accomplish ANYTHING you put mind to. Yeah, it’s nice to see where I am now and think about where I’ll be in the future. I’m proud to say that most people who have known me for years
can say that I’m still the same cat that they knew way back then.
Only maybe a little more focused and hungry!

Out of the blue, my manager calls me and tells me that he’s pulled some strings and has me on a guest list for an Official Oscar After-Party. Do I want to go? Uhhhh, okay! Wow! I’ve never been to an Oscar party before. Still, as I’ve said before, this year I’m trying to get out and network a bit more. It’s another facet of my master plan on getting to where I need
to in this business.

I head into my closet, pull out a suit....now it’s time to get ready! So I get to the party. My manager’s partner serves as my publicist for the evening and we start out on one of my most
memorable evenings ever! I mean I’m walking down the red carpet, having photos snapped by the paparazzi, talking about my upcoming films (King of California, Ocean’s 13), mingling with some stars, networking with producers and directors, free drinks, etc. I’ll be honest, I felt like a male Cinderella. Is it midnight yet?!

Look, those of you who follow my journey know me……I don’t mind taking the first step and doing things on my own. After all, I’m grown people!! Feerless….right?! Ummm, yeah!!! Smile. Still it was soo nice to see my friend Tasia on the carpet as well. She’s obviously done this quite a few times before. She’s a pro at this by now, I’m sure. I’m still a rookie, but it’s cool. I could definitely get used to this…real fast!

Needless to say, I had a great time. I’m sure there will be many more of these in my future. Still, you never forget your first! A year ago, I was new to LA. No one knew who I was and I was trying to just get on someone’s, anyone’s radar…..and here I
am doing the red carpet and feeling like a superstar. Only in Hollywood people! Only in Hollywood. Please keep me in your prayers.

That is so awesome! What you believe is what you achieve and staying focused on what you want, draws it to you. That's the way the Universe works and you are workin' it!! I am so happy for you! Barbara
